Seeing my daughter's eyes light up when she stepped into the American Girl store ......priceless!
After months of trying to find the perfect time to visit the American Girl Store, we finally got to go today. We took Audrey's cousin, Hannah with us. They had a blast. Audrey loved looking around the Bitty store, until we went upstairs (via the escalator, which ran a steep competition to the dolls as the coolest thing that day) and she was introduced to the "My American Girl" section. She was sold as soon as she saw those dolls. She picked out one that looked the most like her and her outfit. She had her named before we got to the check out. We got Allie quite a few things to go with the Bitty that she is asking Santa for this year. Allie and Hannah's younger sister, Lilah, stayed with Grandma.
After we arrived we shopped 45 minutes until lunch time. We had made reservations in advance and I was quite impressed they had a gluten free option on the website when making reservations. They made sure that everything that the girls had to eat, I had a gluten free option. I was quite impressed. Audrey didn't get most of her lunch, she was way too excited. She got macaroni and cheese and pink lemonade to drink.
After lunch, Audrey spent more time deciding which doll to get. We didn't even step foot into the historical doll land. We then went to Lego land and bought some Christmas presents for Allie and Lilah. There was a Disney Store within walking distance....so we HAD to go. I was quite impressed that for once I didn't buy a thing. Next on the list was The Hershey Store. The girls got insanely red cupcakes and chocolate milk before we headed home. Audrey slept the entire way home.
So glad we went. I'm sure this was only our first of many visits.
